KIDNEY SUPPORT SCOTLAND
Kidney Support Scotland a Scottish based charity which fundraises all over Scotland. The money raised is spent within the area the fundraising takes place. E.g. all funds raised in your area would be spent within your area for renal patients and their families.
KSS may be able to assist you with a holiday. KSS have kindly been gifted the use of a caravan courtesy of the owners of the Silver Sands Caravan Park in Lossiemouth, on The Moray Firth, in Northern Scotland.
Lossiemouth Bay is situated on the North East Coast of Scotland in Morayshire, and looks directly over the River Lossie. Known locally as ‘the Riviera of the North’ due to the warm Gulf Stream and exceptionally mild climate. Just a few strides from the park will take you onto the beautiful sandy beach where you can enjoy bird watching and often spot the famous bottle nosed dolphins. The Lighthouse has spectacular views over the Moray Firth and RAF Lossiemouth is just behind the Park. Jets, usually Tornadoes, take off on a regular basis from RAF Lossiemouth so please be aware of this if planning a holiday here. Seeing the jets doing their formations is an awesome sight and like a free airshow daily. Nimrods and AWAC's can be seen as well.
A 15-minute walk will take you into the centre of Lossiemouth, either by road or via the beach, where you will find attractions for all the family.
The site is open 11 months of the year, opening on 11th February 2009 until 31st December.
If you are a kidney patient, you MAY qualify for a holiday, SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY. You may be able to receive help with travelling to the site and travelling to and from dialysis sessions. There are satellite units at Elgin and Port Soy.
Please contact Margaret Winney on (01343) 547053 for further information.
